Gone to the wind our coherence of conversation

Gone to the wind our coherence of conversation,
prevail the repetitions, disbelief and confusion.

Welcome to the river of fire I told you about,
Been here a while, too long without a doubt.

Not a waking moment will be peaceful,
If you write your heart off to someone deceitful.

If you think what we had will ever go back,
I don't think you understand our lack.

We lacked a privacy that will never return,
No matter what therapy or theory we learn.

But the unchangeable aside,
You can't deny that we tried.

We went for rides and told no lies,
We sat and spoke at length and size.

Bickered and bickered for hours on end.
Unable to conclude on pleasure or pain.

But what courses, ripples and gushes away,
Is time, tide and opportunities at bay.

Done with one and onto another,
Who knew (at-logger-heads) we'd last a summer.

I know I won't entertain anymore of your indecision,
To leave or to stay, (for me) it's about keeping the conversation.

I've told you this before and I'll say it again,
I'll never disrespect you but you have to understand.

That if you don't unlatch your wagon from mine,
You'll be forcing eventually an innocent crime.
